ATTACHMENT 1 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 9.22 (RECYCLING) AND TITLE 18 (ZONING) OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO: UPDATE DEFINITIONS AND SIMPLIFY THE LIST OF <br />PERMITTED AND CONDITIONALLY PERMITTED LAND USES IN COMMERCIAL, <br />OFFICE AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS; ESTABLISH A MINOR CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT PROCESS; REFLECT CURRENT PRACTICES; CLARIFY AND <br />STREAMLINE REVIEW PROCEDURES; REPLACE OUT -OF -DATE REFERENCES; <br />AND UNDERTAKE OTHER CHANGES TO MAKE THE CODE MORE USER - <br />FRIENDLY, AS FILED UNDER CASE P16 -1418 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has identified as a priority an update of the Zoning <br />Code for purposes of establishing a Minor Conditional Use Permit process, and <br />clarifying and simplifying the development review process; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 14, 2016, the Planning Commission <br />recommended that the City Council amend sections of Chapter 9.22 (Recycling) and <br />Title 18 (Zoning) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to: update and simplify the list of <br />permitted and conditionally permitted land uses in commercial, office and industrial <br />districts; establish a Minor Conditional Use Permit process for routine uses; reflect <br />current practices; clarify and streamline review procedures; replace out -of -date <br />references and update definitions; and undertake other changes to make the code more <br />user - friendly; and, <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 17, 2017, the City Council reviewed the <br />report of the Director of Community Development regarding the amendments to Chapter <br />9.22 (Recycling) and Title 18 (Zoning) of the Municipal Code and the recommendations <br />of the Planning Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 21, 2017, the City Council reviewed the <br />additional report of the Director of Community Development regarding the amendments <br />to Chapter 9.22 (Recycling) and Title 18 (Zoning) of the Municipal Code. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br />Municipal Code are consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan. <br />SECTION 2. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br />Municipal Code will not cause any significant effect on the environment and qualify for <br />the exemption from environmental review per 14 C.C.R. §15061(b)(3). <br />1 <br />
