There are also many families specifically interested in purchasing a home within the subdivision so that they
can age-in-place themselves and live near their on-site resident. There are other families who hope to buy a
private home so that their loved one can access the SFH campus and all amenities, in the event they are not
chosen for one of the 30 individual units.
That's what makes the Irby Ranch project so unique. And our planned Livermore community does not provide
this opportunity.
I know you've heard me mention before the number of individuals with special needs in Pleasanton who need
affordable, long-term housing.
There are currently 700 -- and this number does not take into consideration the rapidly growing rate of autism
and other developmental delays.
As a society, we must provide opportunities for these individuals to create their own adult lives and to live
among their peers and friends.
We've done it for seniors and veterans. It's now the right time for individuals with developmental delays. And
Irby Ranch is the right project.
If approved, Irby Ranch and Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch will truly be a showcase to the state and the nation on
how communities can create mixed use developments that benefit everyone.
Our families are waiting. Our children are waiting. We hope you'll help us realize this dream.
Thank you for your consideration.
