CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> December 20, 2016 <br /> Mayor Thorne called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7 00 p m Councilmember Narum led <br /> the pledge of allegiance and provided opening remarks <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Olson, Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent None <br /> CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> City Attorney Sodergren advised that no reportable action was taken in the earlier closed session <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> It was noted that Item No 3 of the Consent Calendar was continued to January 17, 2017 <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Regarding Item No 5, Councilmember Pentin noticed $25,000 was included as additional revenue from <br /> Farmers' Market in the budget that they did not have in 2016 and asked what made the difference <br /> Economic Director Pamela Ott reported the Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA) is interested in <br /> ways to increase their revenue base and have looked at opportunities with the Pacific Coast Farmers' <br /> Y pp <br /> Market to receive compensation for using the downtown pending negotiations, and the Farmers' Market <br /> is interested in the possibility of increasing the number of vendors <br /> Councilmember Pentin referenced Item No 10 and stated he was not aware that the purple pipes <br /> would be able to reach Callippe and yet the report shows approximately 700 gallons a day to Callippe <br /> at some point in time City Manager Nelson Fialho clarified that the current conclusion is that 4 2 mgd <br /> are needed to service Callippe and the added capacity to be constructed at the DSRSD plant will <br /> enable the City to do that <br /> Councilmember Brown commented on Item No 5, noting $68,000 is to be directed from the City's <br /> General Fund to the Pleasanton Downtown Association, addressed the PDA's mission statement and <br /> reported that just a few months ago, the PDA submitted a letter in support of a housing project outside <br /> of the PDA She requested that staff carry a message from her, that if the PDA wants to make political <br /> statements in support or endorsement of specific projects, they should consider forming a political <br /> action committee as they are currently, in part, supported by taxpayers and it would be best for them to <br /> remain neutral <br /> Regarding Item No 4, Councilmember Brown reported the City agreed to support and install a shade <br /> structure near Court 10, which will be completed in 2017, if the item is approved <br /> City Manager <br /> 1 Approved special and regular meeting minutes of November 15, 2016 <br /> Community Development <br /> 2 Actions of the Planning Commission <br />
