Halloween Open House for the public that attracts several hundred Pleasanton
residents and recently added a new program for the Recreational Activities for the
Developmentally Disabled (RADD) program called the "Kids serving Kids"
Given their excellent ten (10) year history with the City of Pleasanton as well as their
consistency on service delivery, staff is recommending the extension of the Operator's
Agreement for a seven (7) year term beginning on January 1, 2017.
Some key points of the proposed Agreement are summarized below:
• Payments to the City are now a fixed amount, and not tied to revenue generation.
As a point of reference, in 2015, Lifetime's quarterly payments to the City totaled
$68,050. The 2015 payment was the single highest of any year that Lifetime
Tennis, lnc. has been under contract. Under the proposed Agreement, the
payment for the initial year (2017) is $80,000, which increases each year
thereafter as outlined under sub-section "compensation".
• Lifetime will provide staff during all approved drop-in/free-play use hours at
Amador Valley High School. Lifetime appointed staff is also responsible for
garbage removal from the courts, emptying garbage receptacles as necessary,
and checking/refilling paper goods in the restrooms.
• Lifetime shall purchase $25,000 worth of new improvements to the community
meeting room by the end of 2018. All improvements must be approved by the
City.
• The City is agreeing to supply and install a shade structure near Court #10 by the
end of 2018.
• Lifetime will continue handling all financial transactions for court rentals,
merchandise, and activity registration for lessons, classes, leagues, camps,
clinics and tournaments.
• In addition to Lifetime's obligation to maintain and replace tennis court nets and
windscreens at the park, Lifetime shall now be obligated to also maintain and
replace tennis court nets and windscreens at the Pleasanton Middle School
tennis courts.
• Lifetime will supplement City sports programs by offering periodic classes in the
areas of table tennis, sand volleyball, chess, and possibly pickleball. These
activities must be approved by the City in advance to ensure they are not in
conflict with existing City offerings
Another element of the Agreement is that Lifetime Tennis continues to provide pro shop
services; including the sale and repair of tennis racquets, general tennis supplies, as
well as snacks and refreshments. Lifetime Tennis is also required to honor the City's
policy of maintaining one (1) court during regular hours for non-reservation (drop-
Page 3 of 4
