FOR THE PIONEER CEMETERY AND VETERAN'S MEMORIAL IMPROVEMENTS, CIP NO. 15408 SUMMARY The Pioneer Cemetery and Veteran's Memorial Improvements project consisted of constructing a Veteran's Memorial at the Pioneer Cemetery, which included realigning the drive aisle around the new concrete plaza with granite monuments, a statue, and flags, and providing associated demolition, earthwork, grading, and other site improvements. In addition to the work on the Veteran's plaza, Goodland also repaired the existing antiquated irrigation system and paved the drive aisle from Sunol Boulevard to the new memorial plaza. The irrigation work and paving was not part of the original contract so was accomplished by change order. Construction of all work is complete and ready for acceptance. RECOMMENDATION 1. Accept the improvements for the project. 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $24,269.28 to Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc. thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. 4. Transfer the project balance back to the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan Implementation Reserve. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Funding for this project at the time of award on June 7, 2016 totaled $520,000. Council allocated an additional $76,832.88 to the project for irrigation repairs and paving at their September 6, 2016, meeting; for a total of $596,832.88 in funding. Project expenditures totaled $537,642, leaving a project balance of $59,191 as outlined in Attachment 1.
