Plan Bay Area 2040 Scenarios Feedback
Dear Messrs Paul, Jaramollo, and Shorett,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the three scenarios for Plan Bay Area 2040
We understand that the information related to household and total employment growth by
jurisdiction is not currently available Therefore, absent this critical Information, we are open
any of the three scenarios at this time Should this information become available in the
future, please provide it to us at your earliest opportunity so that we may review the scenarios
in conjunction with the specific parameters for Pleasanton
Additionally, thank you again for taking the time to discuss the City's comments on the Plan
Bay Area 2040 Preliminary Draft Scenarios on March 31, 2016 This conference call was
follow-up to the City's letter dated January 15, 2016, which provided comments on the Plan
Bay Area 2040 Preliminary Draft Scenarios dated December 22, 2015
We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate these comments, summarized as follows
1 The 2010 Base Year household and job numbers for the Hacienda Pnonty
Development Area (PDA) are higher than the values identified.
2 All three scenarios far exceed the City's current growth management ordinance
allotment of 235 residential units per year and would not be considered realistic.
3 All three scenanos represent a significant departure from the anticipated growth in the
Housing Element, and from ABAG's previous projections, are not consistent with the
City's existing planning documents and should be revised accordingly
4 The rate of growth projected for the Hacienda PDA (which is not a planned PDA) far
surpasses the rate of growth projected elsewhere in the City and is not realistic
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT P.O.
