Engineering <br /> 8. Approved change order one with Goodland Landscape, Inc. in the amount of$76,832.88 to install <br /> irrigation mainline piping and laterals in the Pioneer Cemetery from the entrance on Sunol <br /> Boulevard up the hill past the newly constructed Veterans Memorial followed by reconstruction of <br /> the roadway from Cemetery entrance to the Memorial; authorized the Director of Engineering to <br /> execute said change order and allocated $76,832.88 from the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan <br /> Implementation Reserve to cover the change order <br /> Finance <br /> 9. Accepted the monthly disbursements and investment report for July 2016 <br /> Library <br /> 10. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with <br /> Backstage Library Works in the amount of $63,840.00 to provide collection tagging services to <br /> work with new self-check machines and security gates <br /> Operation Services <br /> 11. Pulled from the agenda Authorization of Notice to Proceed for DERWA facilities expansion <br /> project and allocation of funds <br /> MOTION: It was. m/s by Pentin/Narum to approve the Consent Calendar as recommended, with the <br /> exceptions of Items No. 2 and 11. Motion passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Teen Poet Laureates Kyler Juarez, Nithya Swaminathan, Kyle Mular and Irene Sha introduced <br /> themselves and provided readings. <br /> 12. Public Comment <br /> Mike Moran spoke about the importance of bike safety, particularly, in relation to the intersection of <br /> Stanley Boulevard and Valley/Bernal Avenue. He urged the City Council to address the matter and <br /> complete the sidewalk for increased safety. <br /> In response to Councilmember Brown's question regarding the length of the amber traffic light, Mr. <br /> Moran noted that it changes very rapidly and bicyclists need to cross fast. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 13. Public Hearing: PUD-118 and P16-0203, Mike and Teresa H. Carey— Consider applications for: <br /> (1) certificate of appropriateness to demolish all existing structures; (2) rezoning of an <br /> approximately 13,040-square-foot site from 0 (Office) to PUD-MU (Planned Unit Development — <br /> Mixed Use);,and (3) PUD.
