Requests to name any park, recreation <br /> facility, or other City-owned public facility after a specific individual will be considered <br /> no earlier than five years after the individual's death. <br /> Community Parks and Recreation Facilities — shall be named: <br /> • For persons, events, or entities associated with major historical value or that <br /> have exerted positive influence in the development of Pleasanton; or <br /> • After natural features, such as plant or animal life; or <br /> • After cultural features, such as archaeological or paleontological resources; or <br /> • After topographic or geographic features. <br /> After reviewing the Screening Committee's recommendations and the Naming Criteria, <br /> the Commission discussed several different names for the off-leash dog park which <br /> included Bernal Dog Park, Bernal Bark Park and Cubby/Cubby's Dog Park. <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br />
