Section R313 is deleted in its entirety and amended to read as follows: R313.1 Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems. An automatic residential fire sprinkler system shall be designed and installed in accordance with NFPA 13D in all new one- and two- family dwellings and townhouses. In addition, the fire-sprinkler system shall be designed and sprinklers shall be installed in the following locations: 1. Attic shall be provided with intermediate temperature-rated residential fire sprinklers for detection coverage, and located at a spacing equivalent to 30 feet by 30 feet centers and a maximum distance of 15 feet from outside walls.
