I understand that there is a need for more tennis courts in Pleasanton, but there is an equal need for open space
that kids and families can use for spontaneous play, practice, picnics, parties, etc. Building new courts in the
middle of the Tennis park will make some tennis players happy, but you will end up with a neighborhood of
angry residents. You will be taking away an open area that the residents in this neighborhood love. I know this
puts you in a tough spot. However, there may be win -win solutions that will make everyone happy, that both
preserve the green space in the center of the Tennis park and add more tennis courts in Pleasanton. But you can
only find a win -win solution if you take the opportunity to look for it. Could the courts be built in a different
part of the Tennis Park? Could more courts be built at a different location in Pleasanton?
So I urge the city council to preserve the green space at the park and not construct the new courts on that field,
but instead continue to look for and study solutions that would be acceptable to everyone, tennis players and
residents of the neighborhood around the park. I know that this will cost the city money. No one wants the city
to lose money. After all, that is our money. But I consider that part of the cost of finding the best solution for
all.
Please don't build the new tennis courts now. Please preserve the field for everyone and search for a better
solution.
Sincerely,
Frank Kusnierz
7867 Paseo Santa Cruz
510- 299 -5271
Click here to report this email as spam.
2
