CITY-COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> June 7, 2016 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW BIDS, AND AWARD <br /> CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO GOODLAND LANDSCAPE <br /> CONSTRUCTION, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $390,000 FOR <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF THE PIONEER CEMETERY IMPROVEMENTS AND <br /> VETERANS MEMORIAL PROJECT, CIP NO. 158008 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Plans for the Pioneer Cemetery Improvements and Veterans Memorial project, CIP No. <br /> 158008, were completed and advertised for construction bid in March 2016. Three bids <br /> were received by the advertised bidding deadline of 2:00 PM on April 26, 2016. Bids <br /> ranged from the low of $390,000, to a high of $407,000. Staff is recommending the <br /> contract be awarded to Goodland Construction Inc. in the low bid amount of$390,000. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Award the construction contract to Goodland Landscape, Inc, for the low bid amount <br /> of$390,000. <br /> 3. Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute contract change orders <br /> up to a not-to-exceed amount of $40,000 (approximately 10% of bid amount) due to <br /> unforeseen conditions or other work found to be necessary during construction to <br /> successfully complete the project. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project is included in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget in <br /> the amount of$520,000. Expenditures are anticipated to total $499,683. See Attachment <br /> 3 for a summary of funding and anticipated expenditures. <br />
