A summary of the project budget is <br /> presented in the Attachment 3. <br /> Although the project was originally intended to use $950,000 of BIC funds, which are in a <br /> special Bemal Property Traffic Fees(Fund 168), Street Developer Funds(Fund 499)were <br /> inadvertently allocated to the budget by staff when the CIP was officially adopted by City <br /> Council. Therefore, staff is requesting authorization to change the funding source back <br /> to staffs original intention of using BIC funds. BIC funds are limited in their use to this <br /> area, while Street Developer Funds can be used to fund any traffic improvements that are <br /> identified in the General Plan. <br /> Bids <br /> Sealed bids for this project were opened on May 10, 2016. There were two bids received. <br /> The low bid amount of $856,483.05 was from Ghilotti Construction Company, Inc., and <br /> the bid of $933,415.61 was from G. Bortolotto & Company. The low bid amount is <br /> approximately 0.80% higher than the engineer's estimate of $849,345 (see Attachment <br /> 2). Past work performed by Ghilotti Construction Company, Inc. was verified to be <br /> satisfactory.
