CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 784 <br /> <br /> AN INTERIM ORDINANCE PLACING CERTAIN PROPERTIES <br /> INTO AN S (STUDY) DISTRICT FOR FOUR MONTHS AND <br /> TEMPORARILY AMENDING THE ZONING MAPS ASSOCIATED <br /> WITH SAID PROPERTIES, SAID ORDINANCE BEING ADOPTED <br /> AS AN URGENCY MEASURE(ZONING UNIT MAPS #151A - 151F) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 65858 of the Government Code of the Sate of <br />California permits the City Council, in order to protect the pub- <br />lic safety, health and welfare, to adopt as an urgency measure an <br />interim ordinance prohibiting any uses which may be in conflict <br />with a contemplated zoning proposal which the City Council, Plan- <br />ning Commission or Planning Department is considering or studying <br />or intending to study within a reasonable time; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a new general plan on <br />February 9, 1976, by Resolution No. 76-27 (A Resolution Adopting <br />A Revised General Plan); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain large properties are inconsistent with said <br />general plan and must be brought into conformity pursuant to <br />~65860 of the Government Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council's Resolution No. 76-27 directed the <br />staff to undertake studies and prepare a program for effectuating <br />the goals, objectives and policies of the general plan and espe- <br />cially to devise a program for determining an appropriate method <br />for allocating development within the City over a twenty year <br />period; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been advised by the State of California <br />Office of Planning and Research, that a grant from the Department <br />of Housing and Community Development will be available to fund the <br />necessary studies to prepare the allocation program contemplated <br />in the general plan Resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The City staff anticipates completion of an alloca- <br /> <br />tion program with the 1976-77 fiscal year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the appropriate zoning for the properties identified <br />in this ordinance may be affected by this allocation review and <br />the recommendations which stem from said review; and <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
