CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 784 AN INTERIM ORDINANCE PLACING CERTAIN PROPERTIES INTO AN S (STUDY) DISTRICT FOR FOUR MONTHS AND TEMPORARILY AMENDING THE ZONING MAPS ASSOCIATED WITH SAID PROPERTIES, SAID ORDINANCE BEING ADOPTED AS AN URGENCY MEASURE(ZONING UNIT MAPS #151A - 151F) WHEREAS, Section 65858 of the Government Code of the Sate of California permits the City Council, in order to protect the pub- lic safety, health and welfare, to adopt as an urgency measure an interim ordinance prohibiting any uses which may be in conflict with a contemplated zoning proposal which the City Council, Plan- ning Commission or Planning Department is considering or studying or intending to study within a reasonable time; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a new general plan on February 9, 1976, by Resolution No. 76-27 (A Resolution Adopting A Revised General Plan); and WHEREAS, certain large properties are inconsistent with said general plan and must be brought into conformity pursuant to ~65860 of the Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council's Resolution No. 76-27 directed the staff to undertake studies and prepare a program for effectuating the goals, objectives and policies of the general plan and espe- cially to devise a program for determining an appropriate method for allocating development within the City over a twenty year period; and WHEREAS, the City has been advised by the State of California Office of Planning and Research, that a grant from the Department of Housing and Community Development will be available to fund the necessary studies to prepare the allocation program contemplated in the general plan Resolution; and WHEREAS, The City staff anticipates completion of an alloca- tion program with the 1976-77 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the appropriate zoning for the properties identified in this ordinance may be affected by this allocation review and the recommendations which stem from said review; and -1-
