when our services are not required and others when our effort is closer to full-time. Additional effort beyond that estimated herein may be required to accommodate project needs. We will not exceed the fee estimate provided herein without your written authorization. Based on the information presented above, our anticipated services and estimated fee are outlined below. Our services will be provided on an on-call, time-and-materials basis as requested by City representatives. Our total effort will be largely contingent upon the construction schedule, pace of construction and contractor performance. Costs for our soil technicians and inspectors will be invoiced at a rate of$95 per hour during a normal 8-hour day, Monday through Friday. Hours worked in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week or on Saturdays will be charged at time and one-half per hour. Hours worked on Sunday will be charged at double the normal hourly rate. Overtime rates will not apply to travel time to/from the site. Our soils technicians will be equipped with a vehicle and sufficient field-testing equipment to provide the results of typical field tests at the site. All vehicles and field-testing equipment are included in the hourly rate. Item Estimated Fee Part I: Geotechnical and Materials Testing Soils Technician/Inspector—Grading and Site Improvements $51,350 (estimated 520 regular technician hours) Geotechnical Laboratory Testing(estimated 10 laboratory proctors) 1,550 Asphalt Laboratory Testing(assumed testing suite and estimated 5 days of paving) 5,250 Miscellaneous Concrete Compressive Strength Testing(est.6 sets of 5 cylinders) 1.050 Subtotal—Part I: $59,200 Part II: Engineering Support,Submittal Review,Project Management and Reporting $5,500 TOTAL ESTIMATED FEE: $64,700 PROPOSED FEES We propose to perform the scope of services outlined above on a time-and-materials basis for an estimated fee of $64,700. If unforeseen conditions are encountered, or if we experience delays or circumstances beyond our control,we will notify you immediately to discuss modifications to the scope of services and/or project fees. We will not eclipse the total fee estimated herein without written authorization from the City of Pleasanton. AUTHORIZATION We will commence with the scope of services proposed herein upon receipt of written notice to proceed.
