Included herein is a project description, scope of services outline and
resultant fee estimate. The scope of work proposed herein reflects the plans and specifications provided
by Kimley-Horn and our prior discussions with you. We understand that prevailing wage requirements
will apply to our field representatives on this project.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF SERVICES
The project will essentially reconstruct Stanley Boulevard between 1s` Street and Santa Rita Road. The
existing roadway section (typically 3 to 4 inches of asphalt over 7 to 7 Y2 inches of PCC slab) will be
demolished along with a variety of existing improvements (including overhead utility lines) and
landscaping along each side of Stanley Boulevard. The reconstructed roadway will have new curb-to-
curb widths on the order of 40 to 55 feet and edge drains will be installed in most locations. Traffic
configurations will include various combinations of travel, bike, parking, and turn lanes of variable
width. The structural section for the new roadway will be 2 inches rubberized hot mix asphalt over 3
inches of Type A hot mix asphalt over 12 inches of Class 2 aggregate base. New underground utilities
will include storm drain (with new curb inlets) and a significant joint trench package along the
westbound lane. New sidewalk, curb-and-gutter and approximately 100 linear feet of relatively short
soldier pile retaining wall are also planned. Improvements will generally be constructed with City of
Pleasanton standards.Various utility agency standards may also apply to the new joint trench package.
Our testing and observation services for the project are anticipated to include compaction testing of
subgrade, aggregate base, asphalt materials and utility trench backfill and associated laboratory testing.
Some sampling of fresh concrete and associated laboratory testing may also be requested. A detailed
project schedule was not provided. Based on our prior discussions, we have assumed that one field
technician/inspector will be needed on an approximately half-time basis for a period of approximately
six months. This is an average effort over the course of the project; we understand there may be days
6671 Brisa Street • Livermore, California 94550 • Tel (925) 371-5900 • Fax (925) 371-5915
