Deliverables: o Site and Bridge Type Selection Memorandum 4. Right-of-Way Evaluation e Review compiled right-of-way information and recommended bridge alignment and approach e Evaluate right of way requirements for bridge site and type e Prepare right-of-way memorandum summarizing the need for and approximate cost of obtaining right-of-way,if needed Deliverables: o Right-of-Way memorandum 5. Preliminary Assessment of Project Environmental and Permitting Needs e Conduct site visit to complete a preliminary wetlands assessment noting elevation of ordinary high waters and waters of the state. • Search records contained in the California Natural Diversity Database. • Summarize findings in a memorandum which will also identify permitting requirements Deliverables: o Biological Opportunities and Constraints Memorandum Assumptions: Does not include systematic surveys or protocol surveys. These may be required by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at a later date. 6. Preferred Alternative o Develop three alternatives consisting of different bridge lengths and elevations based on the bridge type and alignment identified in task 3 s Prepare conceptual general plans (plan and elevation only) and rank alternatives based on approximate cost e Prepare alternatives evaluation memorandum with recommended alternative Deliverables: o Design Alternatives Memorandum 7. Conceptual Plans and Estimates for Preferred Alternative e Contact pre-fabricated bridge suppliers (Big R Bridge,Continental Bridge, Excel Bridge, Pioneer Bridges,Acrow Bridge,Wheeler) to obtain approximate costs for bridge and abutment design,fabrication,and delivery • Develop preferred alternative design to the 35%level based on experience with similar sized bridges and abutments • Prepare conceptual level cost estimate using ballpark costs obtained from pre- fabricated bridge suppliers and online Caltrans cost database.
