Alameda CTC Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program Implementation Guidelines <br /> c. New bikeways (such as bicycle routes,boulevards,lanes,multi-use <br /> pathways) <br /> d. Improvements or upgrades to existing bikeways <br /> e. Maintenance of bicycle and pedestrian facilities <br /> f. Crossing improvements (at intersections,interchanges,railroads, <br /> freeways,etc.) for pedestrians and bicyclists <br /> g. Bicycle parking facilities,including construction,maintenance and <br /> operations <br /> h. ADA on-street improvements <br /> i. Signage for pedestrians and/or bicyclists <br /> j. Pedestrian and bicycle access improvements to,from and at transit <br /> facilities <br /> k. Traffic calming projects <br /> 1. All phases of capital projects,including feasibility studies,planning, <br /> and environmental <br /> 2) Development of Local Bicycle and/or Pedestrian Master Plans,and updates <br /> of Plans <br /> 3) Compliance with complete streets policies,to comply with the California <br /> Complete Streets Act of 2008,as specified in Section 6. <br /> 4) Design and implementation of education,enforcement,outreach,and <br /> promotion programs <br /> 5) Direct staff and consultant costs to develop,plan,implement,operate,and <br /> maintain the bicycle and pedestrian projects and programs. <br /> 6) Maintenance of the portion of the street most often used for bicycling(such <br /> as bicycle lanes) <br /> 7) Bicycle/pedestrian capital projects on non-city property,such as on school <br /> district property. <br /> 8) Direct staff and consultant costs that support eligible activities,including the <br /> end-of-year compliance report <br /> 9) Crossing guards <br /> 10) Direct staff training costs directly related to implementation of projects, <br /> plans,or programs implemented with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety <br /> Funds <br /> c. Ineligible Uses:The following is a list of ineligible uses of Measure B Bicycle/Pedestrian <br /> pass-through funds: <br /> 1) Non-transportation projects such as fees charged to capital construction <br /> projects for services or amenities not related to transportation <br /> 2) Repaving of the entire roadway(see"Eligible Uses"above for exceptions) <br /> Bicycle/Pedestrian-4 <br />
