$395.09 community grant fund recommended. <br />Pleasanton Unified School District — College Preparation and Readiness (CPR) Program <br />Felt the program could be helpful. <br />$5,273.00 community grant funds recommended <br />The Gatehouse Academy for Gifted Education — enGage Summer Enrichment Camp <br />Questioned whether the program could exist without funding. <br />$2,900.00 community grant funds recommended. <br />Tri- Valley haven — Anti - Bullying Project <br />Questioned if the program could be offered at the same time as October Unity Day events. <br />Commission strongly advocates for this program. <br />Having program at middle schools is very important. <br />Need to include social media bullying. <br />$6,672.00 community grant funds recommended <br />Tri - Valley Haven — Healthy Relationships Program <br />Program should be expanded to middle schools. <br />$6,672.00 community grant funds recommended. <br />Tri - Valley YMCA — Allowing Kids with Special needs to Thrive at Y -Camp <br />A needed program. <br />$5,000.00 community grant funds recommended. <br />Tri - Valley YMCA — Focusing on the Whole" Child - Social Emotional Learninq <br />Felt it was a good program with merit. <br />$3,955.00 community grant funds recommended. <br />Tri - Valley YMCA — Inspiring Future Careers with STEM Activities <br />A good program. <br />$4,373.00 community grant funds recommended. <br />Chairperson Pearce reopened the Public Hearing for a presentation from Cheza Nami <br />Foundation. <br />Commissioners were advised that 36 scholarship kids attended the 2015 Diversity and Culture <br />Camp in 2015. The funding request this year would allow students unable to go to a summer <br />camp to be able to attend. The goal is for 50 scholarship kids. <br />Commissioner Lo was provided confirmation that the grant would be used to pay for the <br />scholarships for those students who are unable to pay. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Rigl, seconded by Commissioner Inman, recommending <br />the following Community Grants Program funding recommendations in the Youth Category for <br />Fiscal Year 2016/2017: <br />Youth Commission Minutes <br />March 9, 2016 <br />Page 5 <br />
