Exhibit A
e f f k at z h'
ARCHITECTURE !
January 25, 2016
Steve Kirkpatrick
City Engineer
City of Pleasanton
123 Main Street
Pleasanton, California 94566
RE: Architectural Services - Fire Station 2/3 Needs Assessment
Dear Steve,
I am pleased that the City has selected us to work with you on the design and
construction of the Fire Station 2 & 3 remodel projects, and I am pleased to offer
this proposal for initial needs assessment services. Once the needs assessment
is complete, an additional proposal can be provided for the final design and
construction administration services.
I have based this proposal on our conversations regarding both projects. For
Station 2 the intent is to determine how best to modify the existing station to
create a facility which meets today's department needs and will extend the useful
life of the facility for 30-50 years. This will include addressing ADA concerns,
gender equality issues and basic building upgrades. For Station 3 the
assessment will look at the condition of the existing station to determine if it is
cost effective to consider similar modifications versus a complete replacement of
the station. Additionally if it is determined to not be feasible to modify, establish
what the program should be for a replacement station at this location, as well as
analyzing the immediate improvements needed to maintain this facility in an
operating condition until the replacement project can commence.
Please note that this proposal is based on the scope of services that we believe
is necessary to successfully complete this project. If there are scope items that
are not included, or that are not necessary, we would be pleased to adjust the
scope and fee to meet your needs.
28o Bettencourt Street Sonoma, CA 95476
www.jeffkatzarchitecture.com
