An attempt should be made to consult with <br /> organizations who may have an interest in materials for re-use before they are cleared <br /> from the construction site. <br /> HAZARDS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS(SECTION 4.12) <br /> Significant Impact <br /> Impact 4.12-1: The proposed project would result in increased generation of household <br /> hazardous wastes that could cause human health and environmental effects if improperly <br /> disposed. <br /> Finding <br /> Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which mitigate or <br /> avoid the significant effects on the environment. <br /> Facts in Support of Finding <br /> The City of Pleasanton has adopted the following measures which will reduce potential impacts <br /> related to the generation of household hazardous waste to a less-than-significant level: <br /> Mitigation Measure 4.12-1: The project sponsor, working with the City of Pleasanton and <br /> Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste Program, shall implement a Buyer Education <br /> Program for Household Hazardous Waste, developing materials to educate buyers about the <br /> identification of household hazardous wastes, appropriate disposal methods, and available drop <br /> off facilities. At a minimum, the materials shall provide a list of example household hazardous <br /> wastes, discuss the environmental impacts of improper disposal, and provide a list of available <br /> drop off facilities.
