That ordinance proved
controversial and different interested parties threatened to file litigation should the ordinance be
adopted. Over the last year,an ad hoc subcommittee of the Pleasanton City Council and City
officials has sought to work with some of the interested parties to arrive at a compromise
acceptable to all concerned. Notwithstanding the good faith efforts of all involved, such a
resolution was not reached.
At this point in time, the hillside protection ordinance will not be considered for second reading
and adoption. Therefore, the status quo remains, and any hillside development proposals will be
analyzed through the City's environmental and public review processes, and in light of Measure
PP on a fact-specific basis, as applicable.
Should you have any questions about this matter, please feel free to contact me.
Very truly yours,
Jona an P.
