THE CITY OF -- CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT pLEASANTONo November 17, 2015 Operations Services TITLE: APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT ONE TO AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE RECYCLED WATER TREATMENT AND DELIVERY SERVICES BY AND BETWEEN DERWA AND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON SUMMARY Dublin San Ramon Services District and East Bay Municipal Utility District Recycled Water Association's (DERWA) and the City of Pleasanton entered into an Agreement to Provide Recycled Water Treatment and Delivery Services dated January 7, 2014. When the agreement was drafted, it was anticipated that the point of connection of the Pleasanton recycled water system to DERWA would be located immediately outside the entrance to the treatment plant. During design of the Pleasanton purple pipe system currently under construction, it was determined that due to the depth of the DERWA pipeline and congestion of other utilities, the point of connection should be located approximately 1,500 feet downstream on property owned by Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD). It was also decided that the connection to Val Vista Park should remain at its current location. The amendment also clarifies Pleasanton's costs for replacement of various DERWA facilities. The DERWA Board of Directors unanimously approved this Amendment at its October 26, 2015 Board meeting. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute Amendment One to Agreement to Provide Recycled Water Treatment and Delivery Services by and between DERWA and the City of Pleasanton. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Costs associated with this Amendment is estimated at $168,700 and have been budgeted and will be paid out of the Recycled Water Fund.
