THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT �.J( <br /> pLE ASANTONC <br /> November 3, 2015 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: DESIGNATE HARDING PARK AS THE PERMANENT NAME FOR THE <br /> NEIGHBORHOOD PARK (T) TO BE CONSTRUCTED AT THE <br /> INTERSECTION OF GIBRALTAR DRIVE AND HACIENDA DRIVE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On May 1, 2012, the City Council approved the Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br /> development plan approving the construction of a mixed-use high-density <br /> residential/commercial development with a public park at the property located at the <br /> northern corner of Gibraltar Drive and Hacienda Drive. The developer, Essex, formally <br /> BRE, will construct and dedicate the park property to the City. The City will be <br /> responsible for maintaining the park. <br /> At its meeting on July 9, 2015, the Parks and Recreation Commission held a public <br /> meeting to consider several potential names for the neighborhood park to be <br /> constructed as part of the Essex 2 development. After receiving public input, the <br /> Commission unanimously selected the name "Harding Park" as the permanent name for <br /> the neighborhood park. Additionally, Courtesy Notices regarding this item were mailed <br /> to all addresses within 1,000' feet of the Essex 2 Planned Unit Development site. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the recommendation to designate "Harding Park" as the <br /> permanent name for the neighborhood park (T) to be constructed at the intersection of <br /> Gibraltar Drive and Hacienda Drive. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the recommendation to designate "Harding Park" as the <br /> permanent name for the neighborhood park (T) to be constructed at the intersection of <br /> Gibraltar Drive and Hacienda Drive. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no fiscal impact to the City, as the cost for the park's signage would be part of <br /> the park's construction project. <br />
