CITY OF PLEASANTON
() SIERRA
FOUNDED 1892 OCT 16 2015
San Francisco Bay Chapter CITY MANAGER
Serving Alameda,Contra Costa,Mann and San Francisco counties •
2530 San Pablo Avenue,#1
Berkeley,CA 94702 SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
Provided to the City Council
October 15, 2015 After Dletrlbution of Packet
Pleasanton Mayor and City Council Date _ Q- -so/
•123 Main Street
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Lund Ranch II --Planning Commission's decision to ignore Measure PP's protections
Honorable Mayor, members of the City Council,
We wrote to the Planning Commission and the City Council in June to express our considerable
concern about the inadequate environmental impact report for Lund Ranch II. Since the time of that
letter, we have learned that the Pleasanton Planning Commission somehow formulated a resolution to
completely ignore the preferred environmental approach that avoids harm to hillsides and ridges. Our
understanding is that the Planning Commission has endorsed construction on high sloping ground that
the Pleasanton voters have disallowed through Measure PP.
This matter is now before you to review. We are writing to you again to request that you do not
overlook the environmental protections for hillsides and ridges that voters approved with Measure PP.
We are requesting that the City Council returns the matter back to the Planning Commission for
additional deliberation so that the Planning Commission can revisit the design and fix the problems with
the environmentally unsound option to perform construction in violation of Measure PP.
Sincerely,
Se
Rebecca Evans, Chapter Chair
Sierra Club San Francisco Bay Chapter
