- Demand is so high for quality preschool and private schools that Montessori is happy to get property. Once
housing comes in,you can bet the neighbors will not want to back up to a two or three story school which is what
Montessori has planned. Housing on this property does not benefit the community. If housing does go in,the
school's expansion plans must be added to the long list of disclosures so the school has a better chance at
expanding.
About noise from Valley and Busch
- Some homeowners would have to keep their double-paned windows closed in order to keep the noise level below
45 dB. This location is not suited for homes. Have you ever tried to play tennis at Muirwood—terrible freeway
noise—So sitting in the "passive" garden by noisy Busch is not going to be restful.
Accommodations by Ponderosa
- Ponderosa is playing hardball with the City—where are the tree-lined streets? A sound wall—Doesn't the General
Plan call for avoiding these. Infill—Ponderosa should find a place that really needs"infill" not one that is needed
for Public and Institutional. A passive garden open to Busch but not to the preschool? Some homes are without
any street parking and this is an ugly bifurcated plan. Yards so small, children will have to play ball in the
street. Homeowners will not want their 5 or 6 year olds playing by themselves on the Ironhorse trail. The
swimming pool at Ironwood would be unavailable to the development. More and more. Just don't do
it! Pleasanton deserves better.
Schools
- Our public schools all are overcrowded. This will add at least another classroom of children and probably more
because these are large family homes—folks come here because of the schools. This plan is shortsighted and
reduces the properties available for schools.
Water
- The water use by the fully developed Ponderosa/Montessori plan is more than is currently being used by 5660
gallons per day. (I will say, it is disappointing that Centerpointe hasn't replace some of their grass with wood chips
or drought tolerant plants.)
Ask Centerpointe Church to come up with a better land up plan that doesn't include rezoning.
Thank you for considering these issues,
Sandy Yamaoda
Click here to report this email as spam.
2
