THE CITY OF _l
rfnear CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pL EASANTON.
August 18, 2015
City Manager
Human Resources
TITLE: APPROVAL AND RATIFICATION OF PAY SCHEDULES FOR
CONFIDENTIAL AND MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES AND RATIFICATION
OF AMENDMENT OF MANAGEMENT COMPENSATION PLAN
SUMMARY
For many years pay rates for confidential and management employees have been
incorporated into the Management Compensation Plan approved by the City Manager
and referenced in the budget adopted by the Council. The California Code of
Regulations provision implementing the California Public Employees' Retirement Law
now requires adoption by a member agency's governing body of pay schedules of its
employees. City Council approval of the pay schedules for this particular group plus
ratification of a recent amendment to the Management Compensation Plan clarifying
ineligibility for retiree medical benefits upon employment by another CaIPERS member
agency, or by otherwise having retirement status rescinded under CaIPERS, are
appropriate at this time.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution approving the pay schedule for Confidential and Management
employees, ratifying past pay scales to August 2011 (the implementation date of the
regulation requiring governing body adoption) for this group of employees, and ratifying
a recent amendment of the provisions of the Management Compensation Plan
regarding ineligibility for Retiree Medical Benefits upon employment by another
CaIPERS member agency, or by otherwise having retirement status rescinded under
CaIPERS.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
None
