CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFOtqIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 761 <br /> <br /> AN OP~INANCE PLACING APPROXIMT~TELY A 5-ACRE PARCEL <br /> LOCATED D~ZDIATELY EAST OF HOPYA~ ROAD AND NORTH <br /> OF VALLEY AVENUE INTO AiN INTERIM "S" (STUDY) DISTRICT, <br /> AS SHOWN ON ZONING UNIT MAP NO. 146, AND ADOPTING <br /> SAID ORDINanCE AS AN URGENCY MEASURE <br /> <br />~IEREAS, §65858 of the Government Code of the State of California <br />[permits the City Council, in order to protect the public safety, <br />health and welfare, to adopt as an urgency measure an interim <br />ordinance prohibiting any uses which may be in conflict with a <br />contemplated zoning proposal which the City Council, Planning Com- <br />hission or Planning Department is considering or studying or in- <br />tending to study within a reasonable time; and <br /> <br /> W]{EREAS, there presently exists an excess of commercial properties <br /> within the City of Pleasanton, and as a result, the City staff has <br /> been requested to reconsider the appropriate land use designation <br /> of the property in question; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, by Resolution No. 1342, adopted <br /> on May 14, 1975, has recommended to the City Council the placement <br /> of the property approximately five acres in size, located immedi- <br /> ately east of Hopyard Road and North of Valley Avenue, into an <br /> interim "S" (Study) District pending completion of staff evalua- <br /> tion as to the appropriate land use designation for said property; <br /> and <br /> <br /> ~EP~AS, in order to protect the public safety, health and welfare <br /> as well as to insure that there is no conflict with the results <br /> of the study referred to above}it is necessary to adopt this <br /> measure as an urgency measure; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASAiqTON DOES <br /> ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1.
