Subject: FW: Speakers at city council meetings =. ' ` ' ="-'f "AL MATERIAL
'lrovided to the City Council
vter' Oistribution of Packet
From: Patricia Baptiste [] r
Sent:Tuesday, June 16, 2015 4:38 PM Date /
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Speakers at city council meetings
Hello,
We are concerned that a council member who recuses himself from items that the council is discussing and voting on is still allowed to
speak in council chambers and address the other members in a public forum on the recused subject. Mr Olsen supposedly put on his
"citizen's hat"and addressed the council regarding the East side plan. He is an elected official who recused himself from discussing
this plan with the council. Even if he is on the other side of the podium. he is still viewed as an elected public servant, and therefore
should not be allowed to speak about an issue that he excused himself from public comment. This is an example of the thinly veiled
advocacy of this project by the majority of council members and staff that the citizens of Pleasanton overwhelmingly are opposed to.
Sincerely,
John and Patricia Baptiste
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
