Past projects vary in size <br /> from focused special status species studies and surveys in small areas to <br /> regional and statewide surveys. I conduct transects, point counts and spot <br /> mapping for passerine birds, owls, raptors, waterfowl, and shorebirds, and <br /> routinely conduct landbird nest searches. Count water and shorebirds in wetland restoration sites. <br /> Conduct preconstruction bird surveys and monitoring for private-sector projects. <br /> Recent projects include: Giacomini Wetlands restoration in Point Reyes National <br /> Seashore, realignment of Peyton Slough in Contra Costa County, oil and gas <br /> pipeline construction and repair in marshes in Contra Costa, Solano, Yolo, and <br /> San Francisco Counties, and annual surveys for nesting California least tern, <br /> snowy plover, and burrowing owls (and monitor and maintain artificial nests for <br /> burrowing owls) in the Montezuma Wetlands Restoration project in Solano <br /> County, CA.
