THE CITY OF <br /> 7 <br /> pLE7�St4NTO CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> Na <br /> June 16, 2015 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW BIDS, AND AWARD <br /> CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO FBD VANGUARD CONSTRUCTION IN <br /> THE AMOUNT OF $87,900 FOR THE BLACK AVENUE TRAFFIC CALMING <br /> PROJECT, CIP NO. 145025 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the project to install concrete curb bulb-outs, access ramps <br /> and traffic striping at two intersections along Black Avenue as part of the Black Avenue <br /> traffic calming plan. Staff is recommending award of the construction contract to FBD <br /> Vanguard Construction in the amount of$87,900. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder FBD Vanguard Construction of Livermore, California, in the <br /> amount of$87,900. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $13,200 (15% of <br /> the construction contract), for any necessary related project work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $101,400 including a construction <br /> contingency of$13,200. The project is fully funded from the Black Avenue Traffic Calming <br /> project (CIP No. 145025). <br />
