There has been much discussion among my Pleasanton friends and neighbors and friends from other communities such as Dublin and San Ramon who have not spoken out against questionable massive development proposals. I am but one person appealing to you but find that I am the voice of a growing number of residents who have grave concerns regarding the proposed residential development plan. As more and more residents are becoming aware of the potential negative impact this development will have on our community, support for"The Plan"is without question declining dramatically. Residents are saying such things as"I had no idea",'Why would the Counsel continue to support a plan that has no true benefit for the current citizens of our city", 'Why is the Counsel supporting this plan when the results of such will destroy the tranquillity of our community", etc. I do not understand why the majority of Counsel members continue to support this plan when there have been countless, informed citizens who have presented documentation to the Counsel and their staff regarding the adverse effects of The Plan". You have been elected to"REPRESENT'the citizens of this community,which in my mind means"PROTECTING US"from development plans such as the one that is being proposed. I would really like to see the Counsel and their staff develop a chart outlining the advantages as well as the disadvantages of this Plan (as already presented by informed, concerned citizens). Show us why this Plan is something for us to embrace rather than fight against. In closing, I have been a resident of Pleasanton since 1971 and have watched my quiet little community change a great deal,much of which has been good change. Please,for the sake of all of us who love this community, step back and re-look at the real push for the Plan. Is it really because it will enhance this community? I just haven't heard anything from the Council or their staff to indicate such. Thank you for considering my concerns and my request to put this Plan to the Voters or to stop it. Since this Plan will have direct and indirect impact on almost all of us who live in Pleasanton, I feel you must consider the wishes of your constituency.
