THE CITY OF /1
Mege CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT /^J
pLEASANTON.
June 2, 2015
Community Development
Engineering Division
TITLE: APPROVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACTS FOR ON-CALL
GENERAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES WITH THE FIRMS OF
DOUGHERTY + DOUGHERTY ARCHITECTS, LLP. AND ATI
ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS
SUMMARY
The City has a need for general architectural services for various projects. City staff
advertised to receive Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for these specialized services
in March 2015. Staff received and reviewed eight SOQs from respondent firms and
invited the top four for interviews. Based on the firms' qualifications, interview
performances, and responses to inquiries of provided references, staff recommends that
the City Council award contracts to two firms: Dougherty + Dougherty Architects, LLP
and ATI Architects and Engineers. The contracts cover services between June 2, 2015
and June 30, 2018 for a total, aggregate not-to-exceed amount of $250,000. Although
the recommended aggregate not-to-exceed amount is $250,000 over three years, there
is no guaranteed amount of work to either of the two firms, and there is no guarantee
that the $250,000 amount will be expended over the contract period. Work will be
assigned based solely upon recognized need.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Approve professional services contracts with Dougherty + Dougherty Architects, LLP
and ATI Architects and Engineers to provide on-call general architectural services in
the total aggregate amount not-to-exceed $250,000 between June 2, 2015 and June
30, 2018.
2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contracts.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
No additional funding is needed to approve these consultant contracts. Funding for
these contracts is budgeted under each individual Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
project and each renovation project budget approved by the City Council.
