CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 746 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 16 (OFF-STREET <br /> PARKING FACILITIES) , CHAPTER 2 (ZONING) , TITLE II <br /> (ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RELATING TO PARKING <br /> ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does ordain <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Subsection (a) of 2-9.15 (Basic Requirements), <br />Article ~6', Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the <br />City is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />~ 2-19.15 Basic Requirements. <br /> a. Unless 0t~erw~se provided by this article, at the <br /> time of initial occupancy, major alteration, or <br /> enlargement of sites, or of completion of con- <br /> struction of a structure or of a major alteration <br /> or enlargement of a structure, there shall be <br /> provided off-street parking facilities for auto- <br /> mobiles in accordance with the schedule of off- <br /> street parking space requirements prescribed in <br /> Sec. 2-9.16. For the purpose of this section <br /> the terms "major alteration" or "enlargement" <br /> shall mean a change of use or an addition which <br /> would increase the number of parking spaces <br /> required by not less than ten percent (10%) of the <br /> total number required. The number of parking spaces <br /> provided for a major alteration or enlargement of <br /> a site or structure shall be in addition to the <br /> number existing prior to the alteration or en- <br /> largement, unless the pre-existing number is <br /> greater than the number prescribed in Sec. 2-9.16, <br /> in which instance the number in excess of the <br /> prescribed minimum shall be counted in calculating <br /> the number provided to serve the major alteration <br /> or enlargement. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Section 2-9.20 (Dwellings and Lodgings in <br />Parking Assessment District), Article 16, Chapter 2, Title II <br />of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is a/nended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />~ 2-9.20 Parking Assessment District. The following parking <br />requirementst shall apply to properties located within parking <br />assessment districts: <br /> a. Except for the uses listed in Sec. 2-9.16(1) and <br /> restaurants, any parcel of real property which is <br /> located wholly or partially within the boundaries <br /> of a parking assessment district which provides <br /> public off-street parking facilities shall be <br /> permitted to construct a building the total square <br /> foot age of which shall not exceed eighty percent <br /> (80%) of-the-buildable area of the lot not included <br /> within the public parking facility, without the need <br /> to provide additional parking. Any building erected <br /> which exceeds eighty percent (80%) of the buildable <br /> area of the lot shall provide additional parking <br /> or pay a sum established pursuant to Sec. 2-9.22~ <br /> <br /> <br />
