THE CITY OF TV((7 <br /> pL��S�4NTON� CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> May 19, 2015 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN <br /> APPLICATION FOR FY16 TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA) <br /> ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS AND ALAMEDA COUNTY MEASURE B FUNDS FOR <br /> THE PLEASANTON PARATRANSIT (DOOR-TO-DOOR) PROGRAM <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides for the disbursement of <br /> transportation funds through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for <br /> community transit services. Funding is allocated from TDA Article 4.5 and Alameda <br /> County Measure B and Measure BB (dedicated sales tax) funds. Eligible agencies are <br /> required to file annual applications for allocation with the MTC and the Alameda County <br /> Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC). <br /> For FY16, the City's projected allocation from all of these funding sources is $339,185. <br /> These funds along with revenue generated from fares, will be used to offset the <br /> proposed cost of $797,280 for the Paratransit Door-to-Door (DTD) program. <br /> Additionally, the City also anticipates receiving $41,894 in Alameda CTC Cycle 5 Gap <br /> Grant funding to assist with funding in FY16 for the City's Paratransit Downtown Route <br /> Program (DTR). <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the Director of Community Services <br /> to submit an application for the FY16 TDAArticle 4.5 funds from the MTC; and Alameda <br /> County Measure B and Measure BB Funds from the Alameda CTC. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The total cost of the City's Paratransit Door-to-Door (DTD) program is $797,280. The <br /> City currently generates $28,500 in fares annually. Should the City receive additional <br /> funding from TDA Article 4.5 ($70,398), Measure B ($99,812), Measure BB ($168,975); <br /> the City's contribution in FY16 from the General Fund would be reduced to $429,595. In <br /> addition, the City's contribution in FY16 for the Paratransit Downtown Route (DTR) <br /> Program is estimated to be $8,411. <br /> BACKGROUND <br />
