Ordinance No. <br /> Page 2 <br /> 5.36.010 Established <br /> There is established in the Cities of Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore, the Town of <br /> Danville, and the Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa the Tri-Valley Tourism Marketing <br /> District ("the district"), under the provisions of the Property and Business Improvement District <br /> Law of 1994, as set forth in the Streets and Highways Code of the state, Section 36600 et seq. <br /> 5.36.020 Boundaries <br /> The boundaries of the district shall be the corporate limits of the Cities of Pleasanton, <br /> Dublin and Livermore, and the Town of Danville, as such corporate limits are amended from <br /> time to time, and designated areas of the Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa as described <br /> in the Management District Plan. <br /> 5.36.050 Assessments <br /> All lodging businesses available for public occupancy within the boundaries of the district <br /> shall be subject to an assessment based upon $2.00 per paid occupied room per night, with a <br /> possible increase in the assessment beginning in year three of up to a maximum of$3.00 per <br /> paid room night. Stays by persons who are government employees on government business, <br /> and stays of 30 days or more shall not be assessed. <br /> 5.36.080 Assessments <br /> Each city and county shall be responsible for collecting the assessments from the <br /> lodging businesses subject to the assessment within that city. The assessments collected shall <br /> be transmitted to the city of Pleasanton which shall administer the funds collected. In <br /> Pleasanton the assessments provided by this chapter shall be collected at the time and in the <br /> manner and with the same penalties as is provided in this code for the collection of transient <br /> occupancy taxes. <br /> Section 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in The Valley Times, a newspaper of general circulation published in the <br /> City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City <br /> Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton on May 5, 2015 by the following vote. <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Jerry Thome, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Karen Diaz, City Clerk <br />
