THE CITY OF <br /> 2 <br /> -°' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONo <br /> April 21, 2015 <br /> City Manager <br /> APPROVE A CONTRACT WITH FAIRBANK, MASLIN, MAULLIN, METZ & <br /> ASSOCIATES TO PROVIDE CONSULTANT SERVICES TO CONDUCT A CITIZENS <br /> SURVEY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> In 1995, 2001. 2007 and 2014, the City hired a survey consultant to prepare and <br /> complete a survey of a sampling of the community that helped the Council and the Staff <br /> determine the satisfaction of the community with the services and facilities provided by <br /> the City. Also, the survey was used to determine the priority of future services and <br /> facilities that were of a high priority to the community. The City is considering the <br /> relocation of City Hall, the Library and the Police facilities to Bernal Park and the <br /> redevelopment of the current 10 acres that house these facilities. Staff is planning to <br /> bring a comprehensive report on this issue to the Council for its review in late 2015. The <br /> results of a citizen survey wilf be helpful to Staff and the Council in formulating this issue <br /> when it is presented to Council. Staff recommends Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & <br /> Associates be retained to provide consultant services to conduct a citizens survey <br /> services at a cost not to exceed $39,780. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends.that the City Council approve, and authorize the City Manager to sign <br /> on behalf of the City, a contract with Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates to <br /> provide consultant services to conduct a citizens survey at a cost not to exceed $39,780 <br /> and authorize staff to transfer the necessary funds for this contract from the General <br /> Fund Contingency. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The monies necessary to fund this contract will come from the General Fund <br /> Contingency. <br />
