THE CITY OF <br /> rUgne CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> April 21, 2015 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE A FIRST AMENDMENT <br /> TO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH LEXINGTON <br /> PLANNING FOR PLANNING SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br /> EXCEED $60,000 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Planning Division is in need of temporary planning services to assist staff in <br /> reviewing and processing current planning applications and other planning activities <br /> during the recruitment process for the replacement of an Associate Planner who retired <br /> in January 2015. On February 2, 2015, the City Manager approved a contract with <br /> Lexington Planning to fill this need for the period February 2, 2015 through April 17, <br /> 2015 in the amount of $20,000. The recruitment has taken longer than expected, and, <br /> therefore, the Planning Division proposes to extend the contract. The original <br /> Agreement is shown as Attachment 1. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to enter into the First Amendment to a Professional <br /> Services Agreement with Lexington Planning for planning services for the period April 1, <br /> 2015 through June 30, 2015, or until an Associate Planner is hired, in an amount not to <br /> exceed $60,000. The First Amendment is shown as Attachment 2. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The total contract amount not to exceed $60,000 will be funded from salary/benefit <br /> savings from the vacant Associate Planner position ($20,000) and from the Planning <br /> Division's Professional Services budget for Climate Action Plan Implementation <br /> ($40,000). <br />
