Assumptions • Length of Construction Period:One calendar year.Estimated fees were calculated based on labor needed over a one-year construction period. • City is responsible for continuous inspection,project management,and administration of the construction contract. • All communication to the Contractor will be made by City Staff. • Recommendation of Acceptance of the Work Harris Design and its subconsultants shall act as the initial interpreter of the requirements of the contract documents and provide opinion on the acceptability of the work. Harris Design will render an opinion on all claims of City and Contractor relating to the acceptability of the work or the interpretation of the requirements of the contract documents pertaining to the execution and progress of the work. • Rejection of Work:On the basis of site observations,Harris Design will disapprove of or reject Contractor's work while it is in progress if Harris Design believes that such work will not produce a completed project that conforms generally to the contract documents or that it will prejudice the integrity of the design concept of the project as reflected in the Construction Contract Documents. • Special Inspections:Copies of all certificates of special Inspections,testing and approvals required by laws,rules,regulations,ordinances,codes,orders or the contract documents will be distributed to the City,Harris Design and the Contractor. All costs for special inspection and testing be paid by the City. Additional Services The following services have not been included in the budget but may be provided with additional compensation as mutually agreeable and specifically authorized by the City in writing. • Providing consultation regarding replacement of any work damaged by vandalism or other cause during construction,and furnishing services as may be required in connection with the replacement of such work. • Providing services made necessary by the default of the Contractor,or by major defects or deficiencies in the work of the Contractor.
