Councilmember Olson said he came here with the belief that the committee should include the
Chamber of Commerce, particularly because the PDA is represented here. He asked and staff again
confirmed that he could accomplish this with his at large selection if desired.
Vice-Mayor Brown noted that several Chamber of Commerce members serve on the Economic Vitality
Committee and other commissions, which could be another way to accomplish the same.
Mr. Fialho also noted that the Task Force meetings will be open to the public, providing anyone wishing
to influence the discussion the opportunity to do so. As the Council considers applications, however, it
does need to be cognizant of avoiding any unforeseen conflicts that could occur when talking about the
redevelopment of the downtown site or other opportunities.
MOTION: It was m/s by Pentin/Narum to approve the formation and composition of a Civic
Center/Library Facilities Master Plan Task Force, as recommended by staff and including the
appointment of alternates from each of the Commissions and Committees.
