Ninety(90) accredited quarter Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> units of which thirty-six (36) must Fire Engineer <br /> be in the field of Fire Science <br /> B.S. or B.A. Degrees Firefighter 5% <br /> Fire Engineer 5% <br /> Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> One Hundred Eighty (180) quarter Firefighter 5% <br /> hour units to include: Fire Engineer 5% <br /> --a minimum of 90 upper division Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> quarter hour units; and <br /> --a minimum of 72 quarter hour units <br /> in a major field of study of which a <br /> minimum of 36-quarter hour units <br /> must be upper division courses <br /> One Hundred Twenty(120) semester Firefighter 5% <br /> hour units to include: Fire Engineer 5% <br /> -- a minimum of 60 upper division Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> semester hour units; and <br /> -- a minimum of 48 semester hour units <br /> in a major field of study of which a <br /> minimum of 24 semester hour units <br /> must be upper division courses <br /> Effective August 1, 2007, employees covered under this Educational Incentive Pay Plan shall receive the <br /> greater of this plan or the amounts provided under Section 21.3 of this Memorandum of Understanding. <br /> NOTE: The above educational levels are not cumulative. The maximum educational incentive pay <br /> received by a Firefighter or Fire Engineer shall not exceed 5%; the maximum educational incentive pay <br /> received by a Fire Captain shall not exceed 2-1/2% nor shall an employee receive incentive pay for more <br /> than one educational level at the 2-1/2% rate nor more than one educational level at the 5%rate. <br /> 21.3 Educational Incentive Pay <br /> Effective August 1, 2009, eligible employees shall receive Educational Incentive Pay as provided below: <br /> AA or AS in Fire Science $50/month <br /> (60) accredited semester units, $50/month <br /> of which 24 units must be in <br /> Fire Science <br /> BA or BS Degree $100/month <br /> 33 <br />
