Steven Bocian
From: datiallieNEEMEIla
Sent: Tuesday, October 21, 2014 10:16 AM
To: Steven Bocian;Jerry Thorne
Cc: Christopher Glaeser
Subject: Bernal Avenue Dog Park
Gentlemen,
I am writing this to voice my concern regarding the proposed dog park on Bernal Ave along Laguna
Creek Lane. This area has already seen a dramatic increase in traffic resulting from: 1) the additional
road construction in the area; 2) the increased use of Foothill and Bernal as an alternative to the
regular backup on 680 during commute hours; and 3) the commercial and additional housing
development just east of 680 off of Bernal Road. Compounding this congestion with a park that will
attract residents far and wide looking to run their dogs will only exacerbate the existing issues.
The thought of having barking dogs at all hours a stone's throw from so many residences is nothing
short of maddening. It is bad enough having neighbors whose dogs bark, but the idea of having
these neighbors' dogs egged on by the inevitable, incessant barking of additional dogs not far away is
by no means fair or just to the neighbors' dogs, and even more so, to those of us who chose this
tranquil location! Also, the thought of having this additional transient traffic frequent an area which is
already known for high break-in and attempted break-in rates resulting from proximity to the freeway
is of further, significant concern.
I have seen, for example in Campbell, that dog parks located adjacent to commercial spaces mitigate
impact to residential areas. I strongly suggest this be considered as a peaceful and amicable
alternative to the current proposal.
Please help keep our neighborhoods west of 680 safe and tranquil for those of us who chose to
locate and raise our families here.
Thanks for your support, and if you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to call or email me.
Karl Chicca
Click here to report this email as spam.
t
