Operations Services Department Worker <br /> Under direct supervision this classification is a generalist that performs manual tasks supporting the work of <br /> the Lead Workers,And Utility Operator classifications. <br /> Crew Assignments: <br /> The Utilities Division Superintendent oversees the entire Program.The Chief Utility System Operator <br /> Supervisor oversees the day to day operation. The Lead Workers generally rotate duties which include: <br /> leading crews;operating hydro-flushers; operating CCTV equipment; performing underground utility <br /> locates (USA); and being on-call. Hydro-flushing, CCTV, locating, pump and lift station preventive <br /> maintenance,and general maintenance and construction duties are shared amongst Utility System <br /> Operators. <br /> The construction crew makes needed repairs of the city water service lines and the sanitary sewer <br /> system which includes but is not limited to: mains, laterals, pump/lift stations, manholes, and repairs or <br /> installs property line clean outs. The hydro-flushing crew performs all cleaning of City sewer mains. <br /> Hydro-flushing uses high pressure water to clean the sewer mains. <br /> The CCTV crew performs televising and condition assessment of the sanitary sewer collection system <br /> piping using a robotic pipe inspection camera system and software. <br /> The Duty Operator performs routine rounds and receives and responds to water distribution, sanitary <br /> and storm sewer calls and emergency response requests for water and wastewater issues as required. <br /> Employees also perform all city utility USA locates. <br /> Legally Responsible Official <br /> The City's authorized representative in all wastewater collection system matters is the Director of <br /> Operations Services.The Utilities Division Superintendent is authorized to act in Director's absence. The <br /> Director or the Director's designee is the Legally Responsible Official (LRO)for purposes of CIWQS <br /> reporting and certification. <br /> Responsibility for SSMP Implementation <br /> The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for implementing all elements of this SSMP.The <br /> Environmental Compliance Manager coordinates with the Planning Department regarding proposed <br /> construction projects. <br /> SSO Response and Reporting Chain of Communication <br /> The SSO reporting process is described in Element VI: Overflow Emergency Response Plan.The Sanitary <br /> Sewer Overflow Response Plan (SSORP) also demonstrates the chain of communication for responding <br /> to and reporting SSO's from observation of an SSO to reporting the SSO to the appropriate agencies. <br /> Table 2-1 above lists the contact phone numbers for the parties involved in the chain of communication. <br /> 131 Page <br />
