CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> October 21, 2014 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE CITY OF PLEASANTON'S 2014 CULTURAL PLAN <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On May 3, 2011, the City Council adopted its Annual Work Plan for FY 2011/ 2012 that <br /> includes an update to the 1998 Cultural Plan. The Cultural Plan Update provides a <br /> framework for directing City resources toward programming, facilities and for addressing <br /> future community art related needs over the next several years. <br /> In November 2012, the Civic Arts Commission, the Cultural Plan Steering Committee <br /> and staff began working with The Cultural Planning Group, in developing the Cultural <br /> Plan. Drafts of the document have been reviewed by staff, the City Manager's office, the <br /> Cultural Plan Steering Committee and the Civic Arts Commission. On September 23, <br /> 2014, a final draft was presented for the Civic Arts Commission's review and comments. <br /> The Civic Arts Commission approved the plan, and is recommending the plan, with <br /> minor changes, for the City Council review and approval. <br /> CIVIC ARTS COMMISSON RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the 2014 Cultural Plan. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the 2014 Cultural Plan. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding allocated to develop the Cultural Plan Update was approved at $74,980. The <br /> project was budgeted in the Firehouse Arts Center Budget (416560.) <br />
