It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to make connections from a source of electrical energy or to supply electric service to any electric wiring, devices, appli- ances or equipment which has been disconnected or ordered to be disconnected by the Chief Building Inspector or his duly authorized repre- sentative to be discontinued until approval has been given by him authorizing the reconnection and use of such wiring, devices, appliances or equipment. The Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed representative shall notify the serving utility of such order to discontinue use. Section 7. Repeal of Conflicting Ordinances. The provisions contained in Ordinances 863 and 868 are hereby repealed as are the provisions of all other former ordinances or parts thereof conflicting or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance or of the Codes hereby adopted. Section 8. The City Council hereby declares that should any section, paragraph, sentence, or work of this ordinance or of the Codes hereby adopted be declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the City of Pleasanton that it would have passed all other portions of this ordinance independent of the elimina- tion herefrom of any such portion or portions as may be declared invalid. Section 9. This Ordinance shall be published once in "THE TIMES," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton, and shall be in force on the thirtieth (30) day after adoption.
