BACKGROUND
The Wastewater Master Plan, 2007 identified the Stoneridge Mall Bypass project to be
a medium-term project to construct 850 feet of 8 inch pipeline bypassing the existing
Stoneridge Mall sewer between Canyon Way to near Deodar Way. Subsequent
development and improvements on other sections of the existing sewer servicing the
Stoneridge Mall area have reduced the project scope. The existing sewer servicing the
Stoneridge Mall area circles the entire mall under Stoneridge Mall road with the
exception of 202 linear feet. There are two separate connections to the main trunk line
sewer servicing the Stoneridge Mall area but the existing sewer around the mall was not
interconnected.
The project installed the missing 202 feet of sewer main providing a completed loop
around the Stoneridge Mall, interconnecting the two outlets to the trunk line sewer. The
installation of the bypass line provides redundancy to the sewer system to prevent and
reduce any potential sewer overflows. The project also provides greater flexibility to
maintain and service the existing sewer line.
DISCUSSION
The construction contract for this project was awarded to Sanact, Inc. dba Roto-Rooter
on April 15, 2014 for the amount of$42,000. One change order was issued, providing a
credit to the City of $156 for an after hours callout to secure the work site. All of the
contract work has been completed to the City's satisfaction. This project is now
complete and staff recommends City Council acceptance.
Submitted b • Fiscal Review: Approve by:
•
F Brian D an Emily kgner Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachments:
1.
