THE CITY OF 8 <br /> pL EASANTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> September 2, 2014 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH RMC <br /> WATER AND ENVIRONMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 1,085,000 TO <br /> PROVIDE ENGINEERING AND DESIGN RELATED SERVICES FOR <br /> THE RECYCLED WATER INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN PROJECT, CIP <br /> NO. 141026 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On November 5, 2013, City Council approved the Recycled Water Feasibility Study <br /> (RWFS) and authorized staff to begin the environmental review and application process <br /> for loans and grants in order to fund the design and construction of the City's RWFS, <br /> which includes delivering recycled water to irrigate the Pleasanton Sports Park along <br /> Parkside Drive by June 21, 2015. In accordance with City purchasing procedures, staff <br /> circulated a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking a qualified project design <br /> engineering firm. Three firms responded to the RFQ and after reviewing the submittals <br /> and interviewing all three firms, staff is recommending the City enter into a professional <br /> services agreement with RMC Water and Environment, Inc. of Walnut Creek, California <br /> in accordance with the scope of work and fees set forth in Attachment 1. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the design professional services agreement with RMC Water and <br /> Environment of Walnut Creek, California (Attachment 1) to provide engineering <br /> and project related services for a not-to-exceed amount of$1,085,000. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the subject contract. <br /> 3. Amend the Capital Improvement Program by appropriating $53,000 from the <br /> Recycled Water Surcharge Fund to CIP project Recycled Water Infrastructure <br /> Expansion — Project Design (141026) to meet project costs. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The professional services agreement is for $1,085,000. The Recycled Water <br /> Infrastructure Expansion — Design (CIP No. 141026) was authorized July 1, 2015 in the <br /> amount of $1,032,000. Staff is requesting an additional $53,000 for the funding of this <br /> contract for a total budget for the project of$1,085,000. <br />
