THE CITY OF 4
negann CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLEASANTONo
August 19, 2014
City Manager
TITLE: APPROVE THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
MANAGEMENT PARTNERS TO FACILITATE ALVISO ADOBE
COMMUNITY PARK PLANNING PROCESS TO DEVELOP VISION,
MISSION AND STRATEGIC PLAN FOR FACILITY
SUMMARY
On July 15, 2014, the City Council approved the formation of a nine member Alviso
Adobe Community Park Task Force to develop a vision and mission for the facility, as
well as a strategic plan with short- and long-term goals. The recently acquired Austin
property open space by the City and the Castleridge property by the East Bay Regional
Park District (EBRPD) will be integrated into the planning process. In addition, City staff
will explore with EBRPD the potential of providing interim access to Castleridge open
space.
Proposals were solicited to provide professional services to facilitate the planning
process. Staff reviewed the proposals and interviewed the firms and recommends
retaining Management Partners for this project. The anticipated time frame for
completion of the process is twelve months. In addition to data collection and analysis,
input from interested parties will be collected through online surveys and community
stakeholders meetings. The professional fee is $35,900 and staff recommends an
additional 10% in agreement contingency bringing the total amount to $39,490.
RECOMMENDATION
That City Council approves the professional services agreement between the City and
Management Partners to provide facilitation services for the Alviso Adobe Community
Park planning process.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There are sufficient funds in the Capital Improvement Program Reserve (CIPR),
Account#068018 to cover this expenditure.
