This document is the result of considerable discussion and input from our
members, all of which are either stakeholders or park volunteers. The Vision includes
recommendations regarding the future of the AACP. Thus, we thought it appropriate to present it
to you while you are undertaking review of the Park and Recreation Master Plan.
Our goal is to offer suggestions for program opportunities and site amenities that, if
implemented, would expand the park's potential far beyond that of today and encourage
memorable and repeat visits by both casual users and programmed groups. The document is
designed to be flexible to reflect the fact that, while we have identified several options to
enhance the facility, we are open to considering a range of ideas.
FAA members are in agreement with the Park and Recreation Master Plan recommendation that
the site is ideal for enhanced and diverse programming and that additional amenities are needed
to fulfill this potential. And, we support the recommendation to consider implementing a
Strategic Plan study for the site. Our members will, of course, cooperate fully in the Strategic
Plan process and will participate in any way that will be helpful.
t
