ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> IDENTIFYING SUB-AREA 13 OF THE BERNAL PROPERTY PHASE II SPECIFIC <br /> PLAN AS SUITABLE FOR AN OFF-LEASH DOG PARK AND COMPATIBLE WITH <br /> THE SURROUNDING LAND USES <br /> WHEREAS, on May 16, 2006 the City Council adopted City Resolution 0636 approving <br /> the Bernal Property Phase II Specific Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 6, 2006 Pleasanton voters, through a general election, <br /> approved Measure P which, in part, adopted the Bemal Property Phase II Specific Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Bernal Property Phase II Specific Plan provides that the City Council <br /> may determine compatible uses for specified sub-areas provided the City Council determines <br /> that they are compatible with surrounding land uses; and <br /> WHEREAS, as an outcome of the City Parks and Recreation Master Plan, the City <br /> Council, at its meeting of February 4, 2014, directed City staff to identify a suitable site for an <br /> off-leash dog park on the Bernal Property other than the property that will be utilized for the <br /> Bemal Community Park and the Oak Woodland area: and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Sub-Area 13 of the Bernal Property <br /> Phase II Specific Plan is suitable for an approximately 1.5 acre off leash dog park and that this <br /> use would be compatible with surrounding land uses. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> Section 1: Determines approximately 1.5 acres of Sub-Area 13 of the Bernal Property <br /> Phase II Specific Plan is suitable for an off lease dog park and that this use is compatible with <br /> surrounding land uses. <br /> Section 2: Authorizes the City staff to work with the City Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission to design an off-leash dog park for City Council consideration at a later date. <br /> Section 3: Approves an agreement with the Tanaka Design Group in the amount of <br /> $49,400 to provide design services for the planned off-leash dog park. <br /> Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on June 17, 2014. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of June, <br /> 2014, by the following vote: <br />
