Some <br /> of the most notable recommendations include: <br /> • Increase cooperation with local service clubs and non-profit organizations to <br /> enhance park development and/or maintenance <br /> • Pursue public-private partnerships to provide additional recreation programming <br /> • Evaluate opportunities to partner with the private sector or non-profit agencies for <br /> the management of facilities and/or programming <br /> • Continue park facility branding and promote social media marketing <br /> Parks and Recreation Facilities <br /> A facility assessment which includes an analysis of existing conditions and future needs <br /> and suggests enhancements to better meet current and future facility and program <br /> needs was also conducted as part of the Master Plan process. It outlines specific <br /> recommendations regarding enhancements and/or expansion of existing facilities and <br /> potential for new facilities to meet current and anticipated future needs. <br /> Overall, the recommendations for expanded and/or new parks and recreation facilities <br /> are based on the actual use of the City's current parks and facilities, projected <br /> population growth and the community's input. The recommendations and findings <br /> related to parks and facilities are: <br /> Facility Changes/Additions to Meet Existing Demand <br /> • One (1) Community Center <br /> • One (1) Large Off-leash Dog Park (over 2 acres) <br /> • One (1) Large Skate Park (over '/ acre) <br /> • Lighted Synthetic Turf, Multi-use Sports Fields <br /> Facility Changes/Additions to Meet Anticipated Future Demand <br /> • One (1) Baseball Field <br /> • One (1) Off-leash Dog Park ( at least 1 acre) <br /> • One (1) Recreational Swimming Pool <br /> • Six (6) Lighted Tennis Courts. Two (2) constructed at the Pleasanton Tennis <br /> and Community Park. Give consideration to enhanced cooperation with the <br /> PUSD regarding joint use of tennis courts and an option of lighting the high <br /> school tennis courts for meeting future needs <br /> • Explore opportunities to add more lighted, synthetic turf, multi-use, sports <br /> fields. The City may want to consider the renovation of existing City sports <br /> fields, the development of new community park sites suitable for <br /> accommodating sports fields, or partner with PUSD and/or non-profit groups <br /> to enhance existing school sites. <br /> Non-Facility Based Recommendations to Meet Current and Future Demand <br /> • Consolidate the operations of the Community Services Department in a single <br /> facility <br /> • Consider revisions to the City's and School District's joint use agreements for <br /> Page 7 of 9 <br />
